We are excited to have Audrey join us this year as our new intern. She comes to us with experience in the events industry having worked for Phelps Creek Vineyards in Hood River as well as coordinating events for a non-profit. She is very talented, sweet and totally adorable- we are very lucky to have her! Read on to learn a little more about her.

Tell us about yourself!
I grew up in Eugene, OR and studied Journalism at the University of Oregon. While in college I worked in wine retail and decided I wanted to get more involved in the Oregon wine culture by working for a local winery. Eventually I moved up to Hood River to live and work at Phelps Creek Vineyards as their Hospitality Coordinator. This was one of the best experiences I’ve had and I gained valuable event coordinating skills while planning their Wine Club parties and events. It was while working at Phelps Creek that I discovered Riverhood Rentals and Hitched in the Hood.
After working for Phelps Creek I moved back to Eugene where I worked in the non-profit industry coordinating fundraising events for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. I learned a great deal about coordinating auctions and other fundraisers which has definitely shaped my abilities to manage larger scale events.
I’m now living in Portland and I’m so excited to have the opportunity to assist Hitched in the Hood this summer and see where it will lead in the future!
What fires you up?
If you asked my friends and family what I like to do, they’d probably tell you that I spend a lot of free time galavanting around local antique and thrift stores. I love seeking out vintage treasures, and anything really that has some sort of story or history that I find intriguing. Weddings are similar in a way that you get to discover each couple’s history; how they met, where they’re from, and often what obstacles they’ve overcome together. I’m definitely sentimental about a good love story.
What are some of your favorite things?
Decorating, spending time with my family and friends, my kitty, discovering new hobbies (crocheting, candle making, etc.), having tea parties, wine tasting, argentine tango, travel, music, vintage shopping, anything from England, and nature.
What are you most looking forward to about Hitched in the Hood weddings this season?
I am excited to continue working in events and helping to create beautiful weddings this summer with Hitched in the Hood. I love being creative and helping to give people a one of a kind experience that they will never forget, and weddings are the perfect outlet for both. I am excited to learn all about the wedding planning process and be a part of such a great team this summer!
Thank you for joining our team Audrey! We are looking forward to working with you and having another season of incredible Gorge weddings. Love, Debbie & Sara
